The first season’s finale was quite a struggle for Lucy.

Summary:

  • Now that Amazon Prime’s hit show Fallout is getting a second season, numerous predictions about the main characters’ future don’t cease to be brought in.
  • Ella Purnell, who portrayed Lucy MacLean in the series, has recently weighed in on her character’s personal growth in season 2, but now most of the actress’ wishes seem unlikely to become true given the Fallout’s finale.
  • Considering all the challenges that Lucy got on her way in the first season, the actress hopes that they won’t affect her character that much.

Now seems to be a perfect time to start pondering over what future will hold for Fallout’s second season. The show debuted on Amazon Prime earlier this month and was very quick to sweep everyone away leaving the creators no choice but to renew the hit series for another season.

While we’re still quite far away from Fallout’s season 2, the show’s cast has already made the first predictions for their characters’ fate — but one of the main actors’ wishes seem pretty much unfeasible.

While talking to GQ recently, Ella Purnell, who got to portray Lucy MacLean, reflected on her character’s possible future in Fallout’s season 2.

The actress revealed that what she wishes for Lucy mainly boils down to her still being funny because “that’s really fun to do” while also seeing the character as someone who “form some opinions that feel truly and wholly hers, and not a product of her upbringing, or a product of Vault-Tec.”

For those who got to watch Fallout, seeing Lucy in her usual cheerful spirits may be a difficult thing to imagine. The first season’s finale turned the character’s world completely upside down when she finally made it to find her seemingly kidnapped father, but then found out that it was actually him who was behind the world’s nuclear destruction.

Despite the disheartening turn of events, at least for Lucy, Purnell cherishes a hope that the first season’s ending didn’t manage to crush the character’s spirit while she’ll gain even more force to keep fighting in the show’s next installment.

According to the actress, she’s glad about seeing Lucy stay a good person no matter what, but she also may be lacking some kind of “a little tiny rebellion” that would push Lucy to finally stand up for her own decisions.

Fallout’s season 1 is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
