The show was definitely not supposed to be scrapped this way.

Summary:

  • Amid constant cancellation news concerning CBS’ biggest hit shows, NCIS ’ spinoff NCIS: Hawaii also got the heat as the series was scrapped two weeks before its third season’s finale.
  • Upon the last episode’s release on May 6, the network got even more backlash regarding the finale’s cliffhanger.
  • As fans were quick to take it all to social media, some of them seem to be following the suit of So Help Me Todd ’s viewers who are quite determined to bring their beloved show back.

Started back in 2021 as one more spinoff of CBS’ military police procedural show NCIS, NCIS: Hawaii didn’t last long on TV ending its run this year as the shocking news broke around a month ago.

The third and last season’s finale premiered on May 6 leaving most of the series’ fans even more bewildered about the whole cancellation news. Though it may have been expected, the show’s ending wasn’t really something that would wrap the entire story up, and the viewers are now raging even more about the unfair decision.

The news that NCIS: Hawaii was officially canceled started circulating two weeks prior to season 3 finale thus leaving fans quite reassured that the show wouldn’t have a decent conclusion to all the storylines anyway.

Everything in fact was just like many predicted: the episode was getting close to its end when it showed the main characters’ gathering at a party thrown for Jane portrayed by Vanessa Lachey.

The finale captures everyone else, including Sam, Ernie, Jesse, Lucy and Kai, making a toast and then takes the viewers to an extra scene where Jane comes home and encounters her former mentor Maggie whose intriguing phrase “Janie, you’re probably going to need a drink for what’s coming next” wraps it all up.

The show’s finale that obviously wasn’t supposed to be the finale at all became a huge incentive for numerous fans across the world to take it to the social media expressing all their anger and disappointment.

Most of them fairly pointed out that canceling a series with such a cliffhanger arcing the whole season is more than just brutal. Others lamented that the network wasn’t even able to give an answer to the pending question and cancel the series after that while some stated that from now on they will always wonder what actually happened and which news Jane was supposed to receive.

However disheartening it all sounds, the show’s fans may have got a lot of inspiration from the recent actions of those who had the same type of reaction about So Help Me Todd’s cancellation.

While the latter ones are already going further trying to bring their favorite show back to the screens by signing a viral petition, NCIS: Hawaii’s viewers are starting their own fight, but so far no methods have been defined.

With some proactive fans ready to do all they can to see the show’s real ending, darker times seem to be promised for CBS.
