He is still pretty hot there too…

We think that every actor’s nightmare is to become a typescast after taking part in a movie they didn’t even like so much. Even if the film turned out to be a huge success and a well-received franchise. Or even if it got mixed reviews and was occasionally laughed at.

One of the most scandalous movies created in late 2010’s is the Fifty Shades movie series with Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. In the movies, they play the leading roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Still. Grey is a wealthy complex man with BDSM preferences, and Still is a naive girl falling for the act.

Needless to say that the movies got a huge following: many viewers loved the kinky premise of it, some wanted to see how the actors handle the roles, and some just needed to watch it to later tell everybody how they cringed during the watch.

Anyway, Dornan got a reputation… Which he was okay with, anyway, and luckily for him, he escaped the fate of becoming a typecast. Instead, he went on playing in one of the most successful UK thriller mysteries called The Tourist.

The series has a 96% Rotten tomatoes score and we think it’s even underrated for a quality show like that one. At the center of the story is Dornan’s character Elliot, who at the beginning of the show wakes up in the Australian outback with no memory because of the car crash he was in.

Events begin to unfold as he tries to pick up the pieces of whatever happened to him and what he was trying to escape. He has to find out who he is so that the past doesn't catch up with him. The slow-paced at first, it has a magnetic plot that keeps twisting the minds of the viewers.

“The Tourist is excellent. Of course it won't be to everyone's taste, but I just binged the first season last night and I absolutely loved it. It basically is a violent, dark comedy, set in an Aussie outback full of eccentric characters,” Redditor stellacampus said.

The first season premiered in 2022 and the second was released earlier this year and frankly left a lot of plot gaps to be answered. So the fans are begging to have the show greenlit, but The BBc still didn’t give the answer.

The Tourist is available to stream on Netflix.
